Roof Washing
Black streaks aren't dirt. We kill them at the root.
Those dark streaks are Gloeocapsa magma — a living algae eating your shingles. High pressure voids warranties and shreds granules. Our soft-wash treatment eliminates it safely and keeps it from coming back.

Roof Washing FAQ
Yes — which is why we never pressure wash a roof. High pressure strips the protective granules off asphalt shingles, voids most manufacturer warranties and can force water under the shingle. We soft wash only, using low pressure and a cleaning solution recommended by shingle manufacturers.
Those streaks are Gloeocapsa magma, a living algae. We apply a soft-wash solution that kills it on contact, let it dwell, and gently rinse. Streaks disappear the same day and the treatment keeps regrowth away far longer than any rinse would.
Yes. Clay and concrete tile, standing-seam metal and metal panel roofs all get the same low-pressure soft-wash treatment, adjusted for the material. Metal roofs common in Galveston and Hitchcock come out especially well — salt haze and algae lift without scratching the finish.
Every 2–4 years for most roofs. Shaded roofs under oaks and pecans, or homes near the coast, tend to streak faster and may need it closer to every two years.
